Here are today’s announcements for WEDNESDAY, January 18th, 2017:
• Recycling Club will meet today during Conference Period in Mrs. Kalscheur’s (Kel-sure)  room A14.  Members are always welcome with dues being $5.00 to join. Please see Mrs. Kalscheur or Ms. Martinez for a pass.”
• Model United Nations will meet this Thursday, January 19th during Conference in Room A45. Please make sure you are in attendance if you are competing at the Mesa Community College Conference.
• HIKING CLUB is starting!  First meeting is today during conference period in Señora Zink's room:  A8.  Take a hike!
• Attention all Fashion Club members. We will be meeting today during conference period.  Please stop by Mrs. Lipinski’s room in A2 if you need a pass. See you then.
• Attention all future track and field stars!! We will have a short informational meeting for all 9th and 10th graders during conference period.  Today---like right now!  It will be held in Lab 9.  What room was that again? Lab 9.  See you there.
• Attention all NJHS members.  Please stop by Lab#4 to pick up your pass for 2nd semester meetings.  Our first meeting is today during conference period. 
• Gifted Passes are available in Lab #4 for all the upcoming meetings.  Make sure to stop by to pick yours up.  The first meeting is next Thursday, January 26.
• Come out to Someburros at SanTan all day Thursday, January 19th to support choir.  Please bring a flyer for the event with you.  You can pick the flyer up in the choir room.  
• Attention Red Cross Club members there will be a meeting today in Mrs. Encinas’ room, A-44, during conference period.  See you there!
• ATTENTION:  NHS meets today during conference period in Room A36. 
• Jr. High Drama Club meets today during conference period in the Choir Room.
• Calling all jazz musicians, including drummers, guitarists, pianists and instrumentalists: an interest meeting for the Casteel HS Jazz Band will take place next Monday, Jan 23rd at 2:40 in the band room. Don't miss out!"
• Lady Colts Girls Varsity Soccer continued rolling extending their win streak to 10 games beating Santa Cruz Valley High School 10-0 last night.  Goals by Arianna Gonzales, McKenna Radder, and Maddie Zook.  Megan Barrientes turned in a two goal night.  Samantha Anger kept in the running for the State scoring title with a 5 goal night.  Kyli Swann and her defense got their 8th shut out of the season.  Come out Thursday night and see your Lady Colts for their last home game at 6pm as they take on ACP.  Go Colts!"
• Your Varsity Basketball Colts lost a tough one last night to Valley Christian. The boys fought hard but couldn't get over that hump. Thank you to those students that were in attendance, but we could use a lot more of you. Our players feed off your energy, and it's the Stampede that's going to make a difference. We're pushing for our first playoff appearance in school history and have 2 HUGE home games next Tuesday and Friday.  They are must-wins. We NEED you. Tuesday home vs ASU Prep and Friday home vs North Pointe Prep.

    Here are today’s announcements for TUESDAY, January 17th, 2017:

    · Casteel Men's Soccer had an inspired victory vs Ben Franklin on Thursday night. They battled injuries and prevailed due to all around strong play from James Zanetti and outstanding quick team play. Casen Simonten scored and kept the pressure on up top and Josh Kowalski played yet another great game and scored as well. David Barrientes was running wild all game and netted a brace as your Colts dominated and took control in the second half.

    When a player scores two goals it is called a brace. Brace, in old English, means a pair of something (bird or animal) killed in hunting.

    Next game is tonight vs highly ranked Santa Cruz Valley - another step in the quest for the playoffs - wish them well

    · ATTENTION: JV Girls Soccer Game for TODAY was MOVED to tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan 18th @ 4 pm.

    · Students will need a pass to use the library during lunch or conference periods. Passes may be picked up before school in the library.

    Good Morning Casteel Colts!
    Please stand for the pledge of allegiance and a moment of silence.
    Here are today’s announcements for Friday, January 13th, 2017:

    · Men's soccer beat Arete (air et AY) Prep 8-2 on Tuesday night in their quest to improve their ranking and make the playoffs - Fransisco Sepulveda started and had a hat trick (that is three goals!) - Casen Simonten and James Zanetti both scored 2 goals to help lead the Colts to victory.
    · Lady Colts soccer was back in action last night as JV played at home winning 3-0 against Odyssey Institute. Varsity as away at Ben Franklin winning a hard fought game 4-0. Another hat trick by Samantha Anger and a clean up goal by Lauren McGhee kept the high powered Lady Colt offense rolling. Lady Colts have now moved their goal total to 61 on the season in just 9 games. The Lady Colts Defense continues to be one the stingiest in the State with another shut out last night. The defense has only allowed two goals all season. Next game is away on Tuesday at Santa Cruz Valley. Last home game is Thursday vs ACP at 6pm. Come out and support your Lady Colts!"
