Basha High Culinary students participated in the US Foods Food Fanatic Event. They were put in small groups with Chefs and when the show started they continued to cook, chop, run, and network with customers and employees of US Foods. The students really impressed the US Foods Staff and their Teacher, Cara Summerfield, was very proud of their performance and achievements. Great Job!

BHS Culinary students competed at the Career Through Culinary Arts Programs (CCAP). The following students won: Damian Rohman won an Industry Scholarship valued at $3,000 including a job with Cullinary M with mentorship from the Head Chef and paid coursework for a CCAP Industry Certification, Braelyn Deem won the $5,000 Beau Macmillan Scholarship. Congratulations to both!

Basha High Nursing students Jazmin Padilla, Nicole Soto, Sandra Moreno, Chayse Olson, Jadyn Blandin, Alyssa Deandra and Instructor Mary Mangan assisted with the distribution of Thanksgiving turkeys and other dinner ingredients at the CUSD CARE Center on Saturday, November 21, 2015. Over 500 families were served. What a worthwhile activity for the community!

Basha FFA students competed in the 84th National FFA Convention and took home some winners! The Parliamentary Procedure Team earned silver, placing 13th in the nation. The team consisted of Nicole Fayden, Hanna Hone, Brooke Lloyd, Julia Nugent, Zach Madrid, and Haylee Rogers. The Floriculture team earned a bronze placement and each team member placed bronze as well. The team consisted of: Payte Brown, Monica Eckloff, Tamera Livingston, Alexis Rodriguez.

Kat Kubista was accepted as a Fellow to participate in the Student and Teacher Technology Transformation Teams (ST4) Project. The number of fellowships was limited and comes with a 2-yr. commitment. Kat will be attending a pre-conference workshop at both the 2012 and 2013 summer conference(s), participate in online professional development, completing project surveys. Kat will indeed be very busy for some time! Way to represent, Kat!

The Arizona Cardinals and University of Phoenix are proud to conclude another successful MVP's in the classroom program. BHS Agriscience teacher, Kat Kubista was one of the 2011 award winners. Each teacher received 4 tickets, 4 VIP sidelines passes and an Arizona Cardinals jersey. Way to go, Kat!!!
