Announcements

  • The Hancock Student Council continues to promote kindness at our school by sponsoring a Dude Be Nice assembly.  Brent Camalich, the president of DBN, spoke to the students about the importance of doing small acts of kindness every day.  The Dude Be Nice shirts are an outward reminder that being nice is our daily mission at Hancock.  Former San Francisco 49ers player, Adam Synder, also participated in the assembly.

  • Buddies from Mrs. Villaorduna’s 6th grade class and Mrs. Chiu’s 2nd grade class worked together on a STEM challenge to design and build a mini Mayflower capable of holding the most capacity.  Students were given only 1 square foot of tinfoil, 10 popsicle sticks, 5 index cards, 10 straws and 12 inches of tape for this challenge.  In the final results, we had several boats that were capable of holding over 100 counters, which represented the pilgrims.  All groups had fun and learned in this Holiday STEM activity!
