I am excited to be a part of the Fulton Elementary community as the school social worker.
My Education and Professional Background
I graduated from high school in Phoenix and went on to earn my bachelor's degree in Social Work from Northern Arizona University and my Master's degree in Social Work from Colorado State University. This is my 8th year working with students from kindergarten to 12th grade. I have worked with students experiencing needs in a variety of areas – academics, social, emotional, and behavioral. Before coming to Fulton, I worked at an elementary school in Denver, Colorado and at Willis Junior High School in Chandler.
My Educational Philosophy
As the school social worker and special education case manager, I support our students at Fulton academically, socially, and emotionally. I work with students, teachers, and families to create and practice strategies to increase students’ successes in the classroom and school community. I support students in obtaining the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens. I am the case manager for students who qualify for special education services under IDEA (Individuals With Disabilities Education Act) as well as students who qualify under Section 504.
