Bologna Elementary second grader Renatta Hernandez-Garcia's submitted a question to Mystery Doug last school year and this year her question was finally selected to be featured on a Mystery Science mini-lesson, where she asked, "Can Animals Really Predict the weather?" It was cleverly tied to Groundhog Day this year!

They also took the time to focus on the intricate details you find in Mexican art. They created their own Mexican mirror art.

Bologna Elementary celebrates and honors the contribution of African American pioneers in space travel during Black History Month this year. Each morning on the announcement, the school highlights different contributions of African Americans figure in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

Superintendent's Student Citizenship Award winner: George Acosta is a kindergartner who exhibits extraordinary determination, hard work, leadership, and attentiveness to detail. He never hesitates to take on challenges or difficult tasks. Positive and friendly towards all staff and students, George is a delightful child to have around. He always tries to create a positive setting.
